THE GREENE FAMILY

In 2003, we began our work in Guatemala, while serving as the Senior Pastor of Hope Community Church in Oviedo, Florida. Our eyes were opened to the great needs that existed among the poor in Guatemala, particularly the children. For the next several years, we found ourselves returning to Guatemala more and more often. Eventually, we realized that God was calling us to come to Guatemala as missionaries. In June 2006, we moved our family to Guatemala and began hosting work teams and families that came to minister in Guatemala. Along the way, we have forged relationships with Guatemalan pastors to direct the people we serve to a local church.

In 2008, we founded Catalyst Resources International, a registered 501(c)(3) organization. As Directors of Catalyst, we seek to partner in Guatemala with pastors and other Christian organizations in an effort to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people. Through partnership and shared resources, we strive to be good stewards of all that God entrusts to us. In August of 2009, we established Mimi's House-a home for girls in San Cristobal. The vision of this home is to provide a loving, Christian, family environment where girls can obtain a bilingual Christian education. There are currently 6 girls residing at Mimi's House who have come to us from difficult family circumstances. We are in the process of obtaining approval from the Guatemalan government to receive orphaned children from the courts. The future plan is to have a network of smaller family-style homes to care for the children. Each of these homes will be hosted by missionary families that will care for these children in a family-style Christian environment.

Our role over the years has been to be used as a catalyst to connect resources to the needy. We anticipate and trust that God will continue to use us in this capacity to impact Guatemala for His Kingdom. Our hearts desire is to fulfill the mandate Jesus laid out for us in Matthew 25:34-40 through the ministries of CRI. We are thankful to share our lives with the people of God in Guatemala!
